Dennett, thank you for your thoughtful response. Yes, Sedona has a certain energy to it. I'm not sure if it is because of the iron in the rocks (it's what makes them red), just the sheer beauty of the place, or something else. But I always feel more "alive" when I'm there. I have a hard time leaving.

I'm sorry to hear about your health issues. I do feel that the bowls help you "re-align." As a former scientist, I have never been able to explain why they work, but I can tell you from first-hand experience that they do. I often use the bowls at the end of workshops (and in my private sessions) and it amazes me that a bowl will sometimes sound "flat" on certain people (I sometimes put them on people's stomachs or chests). It will work just fine on the person next to them, but just not work on that individual, no matter how I move it around or adjust it. But another one may work just fine. I've taken that to mean that something is a little "out-of-tune" and that what they really needed that day was a different bowl. Weirdly, I often feel like I can tell which bowl they might need.

I've acquired all of my bowls on various trips to India (I used to take groups of my students over there fairly regularly, and my husband and I have gone on our own many times). They're all different. Some of them work well with others. Sometimes, when I get one singing, its partner will start to sing softly too. Since they're hand-made, none of them is precisely in tune. But you can get an app for the phone that will tell you basically what key they are in.

I've always wanted a chrystal bowl, but they are soooooo expensive and not very portable.

If you are interested in buying more bowls, make sure that they actually "sing." You should be able to rub the mallet around the rim and, after a few rounds, it will resonate (like a wet finger on a chrystal glass). A lot of them that you can buy on the internet are "dingers" rather than "singers," by which I mean you can tap them with the mallet and they sound really nice, but they end up making a weird, jarring, piercing noise when you try to make them sing. I have a few that are like that, and I like them for the resonant "ding" they make. But I find the "singers" to be more useful.

If you are going to explore the bowls, you and Captain Argentina might want to take turns lying down and having the other person play the bowl, either on you or near you. It's kind of cool to have it right by your head.

The Barbara Kingsolver poetry book is the one I was using for the session. They other was my friend's book. I LOVE Barbara Kingsolver. I've been reading her novels for years, and I was just blown away by her new poetry book.

Thank you for the kind words about the yoga studio. I really was off-kilter for a bit after it closed. But, I am feeling a newfound sense of freedom now. I am excited to see where this all goes. I've been creating a lot of new content for the book I'm putting together. And I invested in a new camera. So, we'll see where it all goes....
