I have started adding voice recordings to all of my poetry too. I feel like it really adds something. You can’t really hear the cadence as well unless it is read out loud.

There is a misconception that spoken word is not “literary” because it’s meant to be spoken aloud. This misses the historical importance of travelling storytellers and griots, the holders and guardians of a people’s folklore and oral history, from whom many of the best poets in the world (both page and stage) have drawn their inspiration for centuries.
