What an amazing story! You had me completely drawn in. I loved all of the details of her life — -the dirty balcony, the plants…. I have a friend who lives in Delhi and has a balcony she has turned into a mini-bird sanctuary. I kept seeing that balcony when reading your story. Thank you for the brief window into another world.
