You got COVID-19 the same day as I did. Those early days were a mess. My husband and I likely got it on a flight home from the Dominican Republic. We had the whole gamut of symptoms (loss of smell and taste, high fevers, extreme chest tightness, coughs, etc… for 16 days) and were told to stay at home. At that time, they were saying that the few existing tests needed to be saved for people who might need to be ventilated. We finally did get the antibody test (positive for both of us) yesterday. What is scary is that most people don’t have any idea that they have it until they have symptoms (at which point they could have unintentionally infected others). There are not enough tests available. And there is just no solid story on how long we are infectious afterwards. My husband’s antibody test came back positive for both short and long-term antibodies (meaning he is probably still infectious) but mine just shows long-term antibodies (I am likely not infectious anymore — but who knows????). I am so glad you are feeling better.
